I certainly enjoy the 1805 Leonore far more than the 1814 Fidelio. I also think had Napoleon's forcing not occupied Vienna, and Beethoven had the forces and the audience, the 1805 Leonore would have been a success, there would have been no 1806 or 1814, and perhaps Beethoven would have written more opera.
